Dr. Helen was raised in the Midwest but also lived on the west coast for many years. She is a "cradle Catholic" raised in a family of strong practicing Catholics from grandparents to parents to aunts, uncles and cousins.
She obtained degrees in Clinical Psychology so is a therapist by trade and has worked in private practice, hospital settings as well as having taught courses at the college level. While attending college she also worked for various major national and international advertising agencies.
In addition she has a special masters level certification in Theology which enabled her to work for the Catholic Church as a Pastoral Associate in parishes and as the Married and Family Life Director for her diocese.
Once having retired from all of these positions she was able to focus on her lifetime love of writing.
Her education, career and life experiences, national and international travels, enjoyment of people with the belief that "everyone has a story," and her deep love of her Catholic Faith are all brought together in her writing.
She is an avid reader, loves to travel, enjoys music, photography, art, sports, collecting books autographed by their author and working on her family's genealogy.
As part of her personal ministry she prays for priests every day and helps them with their work when and where she is able.
Dr. Helen currently resides in Wisconsin but has never given up her loyalty to her Michigan State Spartans.
